Many people walk in and out of our lives but only some leave footprints in our hearts. Ever since I was young, I have always had someone behind me during all of my success or failures who were there for me no matter what. I just wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone in the shooting world that has helped me get to where I am today.
Mom & Dad,
Thank you for always being behind me my whole life telling me I can always do whatever I set my mind to and I can accomplish amazing things. Without your support and guidance, I do not know where I would be today.
No one could ask for a better sister. You are always there when I need you most and always push me to do my best and give nothing less.
I could write a book about everything you have done for me, and all the support you have given me. You believed in me and saw so much potential when I felt like just another face in the crowd in the big world of shooting. I will never be able to thank you enough for your kindness and guidance. You always show me that no matter what there is a light even in the darkest tunnels and I will always be able to get up and get back on the right path. Being so far apart from you and grandma is one of the worst feelings but I always look forward to our talks on the phone and the next match I will see you at. I owe everything I am in shooting to you and grandma’s guidance. Thank you so much for always being there for me.
I do not know where I would be without your amazing guidance and words of wisdom. You always know what to say no matter the situation and if it’s really bad, you always have a tissue at the ready. You have helped dry my tears on multiple occasions and I will never forget everything you have done for me. I miss seeing you almost every weekend and sharing cookies after a long day on the range.
Thank you for all of your patience and guidance in the shooting sport. I will never forget the day you finally talked me into getting out on the line and shooting Small-Bore after a month of just sitting back and watching my sister shoot. Semper Fi, Marine!
John, Luke, & Haley Rettmer,
My first friends in the shooting community who are so close now we are like family! I miss you guys so much all the time now that we live so far apart, but I will never forget all of our fun times shooting together or just hanging out after a match or on the weekends. All of our late night trips to Redbox and Haggen for snacks and movies! You are truly some of my closest friends.
I can never thank you enough for coaching me into my first clean at a long-range match you gave me so much confidence and support at Perry that year! Thank you so much!
Val, you always ran the best matches and clinics in the area. I had so much fun shooting with you and helping run the clinics. Weather it was helping teach in the classroom or driving your truck around to the pits and back; making sure all the coaches had everything they needed like lunch snacks and ammo. You have always rooted for me and saw I had amazing potential. Thank you for all of your help and support it means so much!
Anette Wachter & Charles Mohseni,
You are some of the first people I met when I started shooting and your constant support and friendly and smiley faces are always wonderful to see at the range. I have had so much fun shooting with both of you over the years. Thank you for everything you have done for me.
Gary thank you so much for all of your advice and classes on wind reading and coaching. I always like how you are always there to give helpful advice on how to make me an even better shooter.
Thank you so much for always looking over my plots. Your tips and comments are always helpful to make me a better shooter.
Grandma and Grandpa Evans,
Grandma and Grandpa, thank you so much for your support in my shooting. I always love telling you guys about how I did, and teaching you new things about shooting.
You not only make the best stocks and rifles ever, but you also make an amazing match director and potato chip buddy! You had so much patience with me when I first started and even though I had to stand in the corner a couple times for defacing scorecards, it all made me to be the shooter I am today. You are a great role model and you have the world’s coolest trophy room and tons of fun stories. Thank you so much for not only sharing smiles and stories with me but also helping me get my start in rifle shooting.
Kentucky State Rifle and Pistol Association,
Thanks for your support and funding to be able to travel to Perry with the team and represent Kentucky State.
Washington State Rifle and Pistol Association,
Thank you for the funding, and loaned equipment to help me get my start in across the course rifle shooting. I had an amazing time representing Washington State at Nationals for two great years.
Custer Sportsmen’s Club,
Thank you for the use of your facilities to practice and hold fun matches for all the juniors. Your friendly line officers and ranges are what kept us coming back every time to sharpen our skills and friendships. Also thank you for you generous donations to the State team to send us to Perry every year.
Your book and friendly smile inspired me from the very beginning of my rifle-shooting career. I would always hear amazing stories of you and how amazing you are, so when I met you I felt honored. I felt like I was meeting a celebrity on the red carpet. I have had so many wonderful conversations with you and always love to see your smiling face at the National Matches. Thank you so much for all of your help on and off the line! I always know I can count on you. Big hugs!!
To all other shooters around the U.S. that I have shot with thank you for the great memories and smiles. I always love the friendly competition and great conversations. I always learn something new at every match I go to, and I would not be where I am today without everyone who has rooted for me at some point or another.
