This last weekend I competed in the national collegiate club rifle championships for 3 position Small-bore and Air-rifle. We arrived at for benning and began registration and practice on Friday. Saturday we fired the small-bore portion of the competition. Overall for small-bore our team took third and two members of our team (me and nick) fired personal bests scores.
Sunday was the Air-Rifle competition and awards banquet. As a team for air rifle we place 4th and I again fired a personal best score of a 554 which was the highest score fired on our team.
Overall our team did very good and we had lots of fun together. We took third in the overall aggregate and brought home two trophies and medals for all firing members of the small-bore team.
This marks the end of small-bore and air-rifle season for me but also the beginning of high power. This week I begin training for shooting left handed with my service rifle and may shoot my first match as early as Saturday. I’m so happy that I got to share this experience with my team at nationals and can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
